Background:  Shane Cunningham will be in his fourth year tenure with Stony Point in the 2009 season. Coach Cunningham played lacrosse for the Hammond School in Maryland. Shane served in the US Marine Corps. While serving he helped create the Marine Corp Lacrosse Club for Corpsmen serving their country. He has assisted in the rebuilding of Stony Point Lacrosse Shane took over the club with the help of Coach Jon Hardy when structure and discipline was greatly needed. The club prospered from his direction and was able to make the playoffs in his first year coaching. Shane is a hand’s on type of coach who jumps right in where ever he’s needed. He will even jump in cage with only a stick to force the offense to shoot correctly. Shane will take over the development for the Junior Varsity squad. Here he will be instrumental in getting the younger players ready for Varsity. Shane will instruct the players focus on fundamentals.
